"And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength." - Revelation 1:16

From Omega Frequency: Special Episode: Revelations Chapter One…Verse by Verse (1:04:25):

We will see in verse 20 that the seven stars are the leaders of the seven churches. Jesus is holding them in his right hand. The right hand is the hand of blessing. It is the hand of power. It is the hand of authority.

In the time when John lived Roman soldiers by law could not strike a Roman citizen with his left hand. He could never hit a non-Roman citizen with his right hand. Because the Roman soldier used his left hand when he wiped after a bowel movement.

Think about that for a moment. Jesus said when you are stuck on your right cheek you should offer your left cheek. If a Roman soldier struck you with his left hand, then make him use the right hand that he is not allowed to use next.

Your attitude and submission to the will of God will always give you authority over your enemies. Like the seven stars, place yourself in the right hand of Jesus and you will have His blessing, His power and His authority Over the devil.

Next John says, "out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword." Hebrews 4:12 gives us the exact definition of that sword, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

As the Word of God pierces it divides asunder. This means that the souls and spirits of people are divided apart. The soul is the mind realm. It is your will, your ability to make decisions. It is also your emotions which are powerful feelings. Feelings like love, anger, joy, sadness and feelings are highly subjective. Sometimes what we think and feel is not always true. It leads us to making wrong decisions.

The Word of God separates the soul realm from the spirit realm. The spirit is the part of us that has the ability to be joined with God, to fellowship and commune with Him. The Word of God shows us the truth and gives us the ability to make choices that are in line with God's truth.Once our souls and the spiritual are separated we are able to correctly able to understand God's Word and we will have victory and fellowship with Him.

Lastly John says "his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength." Have you ever looked directly into a noon-day sun? You can't. If you stare defiantly into the sun, your eyes will be destroyed. This reminds me of the Antichrist who defiantly looks up to the sky shaking his fist, daring Jesus to come down and stop Him.

Instead, 2 Thessalonians 2:8 says. "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:"

When John saw this bright glory, he had a very human response. His senses were so overloaded he fainted.
